Legacy Giving and the Protective Power of the MMBB Endowment
When economic indicators fluctuate, many of us seek stability. Such times may call for closely monitoring our finances, whether that be week to week, month to month, or the horizon beyond retirement.
This balance of saving and spending also applies to the MMBB endowment. Gifts from donors, many of which are legacy gifts from MMBB members, established and continue to fund the MMBB endowment. Prudent oversight of investments manages this important resource so that MMBB can continue to serve future generations of pastoral servants.
The MMBB endowment provides important support and peace of mind to our members and the wider American Baptist community. Each year, funds from the endowment help us offer an array of financial support to MMBB members, including emergency assistance, income-based grants, premium support, financial education, and more. These resources support financial well-being and help members maintain their dignity during challenging times.
For the denomination, the endowment helps support the ABC Leadership Conference, ABCUSA Career Development Centers, and more. Funds also provide annual thank-you checks to eligible retired lay administrators.
Your legacy gift could be among those that help protect and serve MMBB members in the decades to come. Many faithful members leave gifts of a few thousand dollars, which individually and collectively testify to the generous witness of the MMBB family—thereby accomplishing together what none of us can accomplish alone.
Monitoring your assets and financial plans for your later years, and adjusting as necessary, can also be very reassuring.
